It's named Roller Coaster because in 1921 it didn't need a name — it was THE roller coaster. A hundred-plus years later the white wooden classic is among the oldest operating coasters on Earth, and it still runs every summer day.
Great-grandma rode this too. The white lattice hills have anchored Lagoon since the Harding administration — rebuilt plank by plank across a century, the way wooden coasters live forever. Four generations of Utahns have taken their first drop here, and the fifth is in line right now.
